I Blame Global Warming
Britain braced for heaviest snowfall in 50-years - Telegraph
Dallas, TX had the first snow on Christmas in 80 years, now the UK is bracing for the worst winter weather in 50 years.
The Arctic ice - the last time I checked - was significantly recovered from its low 2 years ago. (It had been 40% below the 1979-to-2000 average, it was about 30% above that, or 20 percent below that "historical" average.
And the scare quotes are deliberate since it seems strange to use such a short-term average for setting a baseline on a climatological process.
In fact it isn't just the UK. Arctic freeze grips Northern Hemisphere - UPI.com
